The Watchtower
Overall:
The is the most popular crag in Ferguson Canyon. It is a fun area for kid with a longer approach and no kid climbs.
Routes:
It is a large area broken into 4 subareas. It has a little of everything (trad, sport, mixed) and the routes range from 5.2 to 5.12c. While there are some easier routes, they are not routes for kids since they are chimney/stemming routes.
You can find out a lot about this area at Mountain Project at A Granite Guide.
Approach:
The approach is on the longer side for small kids -20 minutes but it is easy.
Landing:
In some of the areas, the landing is slanted and partly in the water. In other areas, its flat.
Traffic:
This is a well trafficked area but its also pretty big.
Extra Kid Fun:
The stream can be a lot of fun for the kids.
Potential Dangers:
The stream can also be a potential danger for really small kids. You need to keep an eye on them and the season might make a big difference here as to what is safe.
