Alex and I, Lani, met while in our undergraduate degree at Brigham

Young University in Utah. He studied International Relations and I studied Latin American Studies. We both did Arabic. We also both did our graduate degrees at BYU. I got a Juris Doctorate at the J. Reuben Clark Law School there and Alex got a Master’s of Public Policy. We’ve been married for over 12 years. We have A LOT of children ages 6 to 21. We have 3 biological, 3 adopted through foster care, and many more that are a part of our family.

The reason why you’re on this page is because we rock climb. I try to boulder/climb twice a week when my hectic life allows for it.  I lead 12s outside and boulder v7s/8s inside. We’ve learned so much over the past few years of where to go, what to do and what NOT to do that we felt inspired to put together a comprehensive guide to climbing with kids, specific to Utah as of now, for other families. This way, you can learn from our experiences and mistakes and build upon that.

We love everything about the outdoors. Our family mantra is that ‘Life with kids is difficult no matter where you are so you might as well be somewhere fun.”

Obviously, we  love to travel and have had a lot of opportunity to do so.

We enjoy camping, hiking, canyoneering, snowboarding, skateboarding, snowshoeing, cross county skiing, scuba diving, hang gliding, sky diving… the list really goes on an on. And on. Boredom… not a problem.
