Echo Canyon: Roadside Crag
Overall:
Zero approach but nothing easier than a 5.7 if you have some really small climbers.
Routes:
Eight routes ranging from 5.7 to 5.10a. There is a three-star 5.9+ that you will definitely enjoy but nothing easier for really small children.
These routes can be found at…
Approach:
There is no approach. You can basically belay from the car.
Landing:
The area is kind of small so you might be somewhat on the road with your entourage of kids. But it is a great flat landing.
Traffic:
Not highly trafficked.
Extra Kid Fun:
The railroad tracks are across the road so you might get to see a train parked or go by which can be exciting.
Potential Dangers:
You are right next to the road and you have railroad tracks across the road. However, it is the frontage road that goes by the freeway so it gets zero traffic but watch your kids and make sure they understand the potential danger.
